Twitter is the latest online craze right now. It is merely a newbie in the social networking arena, but more and more internet users are curious of how this site works. People coined it as a micro-blogging service which enables millions of its users to communicate with each other through updates, also known as tweets. Users mainly joined the world of Twitter for them to know what their friends are doing or letting their friends keep track of what’s been happening to him o her lately. But, besides this main reason, marketers use twitter as a tool to build business traffic to their blogs or websites. But, Twitter is not utilized to its full potential or some is not using it at all.
As we mentioned earlier, Twitter is a micro-blogging service. You only get to post up to 140 characters. With this, you have to make sure that you convey your messages or ideas in an interesting and direct manner because of the short length of the message you are allowed. Use Twitter to spread out the news when you are writing an article, blogging, writing a report, etc.
Another way to generate traffic is the use of forums. The use of forum is one powerful means because of the exchange of ideas and responding to others with advice or answers in several threads with the internet marketers. With this, you can reciprocate twitter links with each other. Remember that one way to build Twitter relationships is to help other Twitter users.
Introduce your new product via Twitter. This will definitely make people curious about what you are trying to sell. In an instant, more people will follow you.
You can also send welcome messages or acknowledge new Twitter users. This will help new followers because it exposes their Twitter profiles to others who may have never heard of them and might like to follow them.
Many find followers in Twitter through searching for people on Twitter who you would like to follow. This way, many will follow you also, thus creating a large following for yourself as well.
If you can afford to subscribe a twitter software, then go get that application. This can actually help grow up your twitter followers more than 10 times within a short period.
Lastly, participation is important in generating traffic. Keep on twitting and twit about cool and exciting things. Others will ultimately want to find out more about you and willing to be your friend. Do participate in the community to get hundreds of friends or following. Even though, you are not that famous like actresses, models, or other online celebrities out there, you can still generate a lot of following. Just be patient, especially if you are Twitter newbie.
By using Twitter, you get to interact immediately with your followers which you can not do using other social networking sites. Twitter users and followers are increasing day by day because they are now familiar of the benefits that they can gain from Twitter. It is a productive way to market your business. We all know that it is not easy to generate thousands of followers in a short time, but you can leverage your website and have users befriend you.

Twitter offers many great features that most twitter users never see… these below the surface features make twitter an amazing tool for finding customers, finding information and doing research…
I love the viral exposure from using blogs and integrating them with with twitter as well as creating products and using viral tweets to spread the word about them…

This Twetter is crazy. I am not a user (yet) but I keep seeing more and more pro-s about it, especially coming from the marketers. I think it works now because it is new and people are curious. But the threat is that in the near future, people will become immune to tweets as they increase in frequency and eventually will get bored as something newer comes along. Hi5 is a good example, Facebook replaced it.
